Week One - Monday

During the Monday studio we were introduced to the assignment brief for Puna. We started to brainstorm ideas in groups and opened this up to a further class discussion. We also did a quick postcard task communicating an event that we did in the holiday break. I choose to do my postcard on my travels through Mexico. I found this helpful as it refreshed my knowledge on design principles and it emphasised the importance of clear design communications through design and how to visually show meaning.

Another activity included brainstorming ideas of categories of Food and Drinks in Wellington. Other groups looked at Sports and Rec and Arts and Culture.  This studio class also gave us the opportunity to come up with our first initial ideas for our brief which we will then further brainstorm in matrixes. With the lectures we brainstormed the topic Fishing and I found this super helpful as it showed how much into depth you can and need to go into. It allowed me to realise how much planning will need to go into our Puna project.
